POCHVEN – YC128-10-07
The Blood Raiders did not invade Pochven.
They got lost.
That is the explosive claim made by an anonymous source inside the Blood Raider Covenant. Flight logs were leaked onto the holonet late last night, providing what is claimed to be evidence that the faction’s highly publicized invasion of Pochven was the result of a catastrophic navigational error.
According to the whistleblower, the Blood Raiders were attempting to reach their usual Crimson Harvest operating areas when the fleet commander entered the wrong destination into the navigation computer.
“We were supposed to go to Amarr space,” the source said. “Someone typed ‘Niarja.’ I don’t think they got the memo about the change in ownership.”
The source, who requested anonymity because “the people involved are extremely good at killing people,” claims the mistake went unnoticed because nobody aboard the fleet was willing to admit something was wrong.
“Blood Raiders have a very specific organizational culture,” the source explained. “If you are the person in charge and you say ‘I have no idea where we are,’ you are probably going to be sacrificed. So everyone just assumed someone else knew.”
The whistleblower alleges that the Blood Raider fleet commander declared the destination to be “exactly as planned.”
“This is what leadership does,” said the source. “You don’t tell 400 Blood Raider Warships that you accidentally punched the wrong destination. You tell them this is a strategic operation.”
Flight Log Transcript
Navigation Officer: “Umm, why are we here?”
Comms Officer: “It’s one of life’s great mysteries isn’t it? Why ARE we here? I mean, are we the product of some cosmic coincidence, or is there really a God? Watching everything. Y’know, with a plan for us and stuff? I dunno, man. But it keeps me up at night.”
Navigation Officer: “No, why are we HERE! The space is all red, and last I checked Amarr space is gold!”
The Official Story Doesn’t Add Up
The official explanation is that the Blood Raiders are exploiting recent Abyssal instability to enter Pochven in search of Triglavian blood and establish a permanent presence in the region.
However, why would anyone intentionally go to Pochven?
“Exactly,” said the whistleblower. “You wouldn’t.”
The source claims the Blood Raiders have no particular interest in Pochven itself and were initially confused by the region’s unusual geography and Triglavian culture.
Triglavians Are Reportedly Furious
The Triglavians, meanwhile, appear to have taken the incident personally. Fighting has already broken out between the two factions.
They have broadcasted a response message to the sudden arrival of the heavily armed religious faction, but we are still trying to translate.
The Blood Raider Navigation officer has reportedly been promoted.
